Week 5: Silhouettes and Characters

We had a great turnout this week! Jinny began the meeting by giving us handouts about characters and silhouettes. We then drew gestures with pixelovely!  Jinny emphasized the importance of altering the sketch from the reference for a more readable silhouette. For example- the first image was a figure with their arms behind them, so to make it more clear we widened the gap.  Otherwise, it would have looked like one wide, awkward arm.

After warming up, we drew the ASC's mascot.
Ace will be appearing in the blog layout very soon, so keep an eye out!

Valentine's Day at the Weeklies

This past meeting we celebrated Valentine's Day by hosting a card making competition.
There were four categories the judges considered when picking the winner:
Animation relevance, design, palette, and cuteness/love.

Here are some of the cards our members made.

The winner of the competition was Laura Mansfield,
with this creative Valentine:

Week 3: Elephants and Freedom

This week we had a free drawing session.
And we drew some elephants from images on Google for a while too.
