Shapes and Scribbles

This past Friday's meeting we created characters using simple doodles and shapes to draw inspiration from.
We looked at examples from Design-A-Character and Cup O' Doodle.

Here are some of our members' doodles!

Model Sheets!

This past Friday, we drew model sheets, pose sheets, and expression sheets.
We used the cat characters that each of us designed at last week's meeting.

Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to get into thumbnailing,
so we'll be doing that next week! Be sure to join us!

You can download the handout from the meeting here.

Here are some of our members' drawings form the meeting:

Week 6: Cats and Cats

This Weeklies meeting was focused on cats and character design!
We started with quick gestures of cats big and small from a compilation of reference photos. After that we used the handouts Jinny made to help design some fantastic feline characters of different shapes and styles. They covered different levels of detail and the use of shapes in a character's design. Including some in In addition we looked at character designs from animations such as Simon's Cat and Cats Don't Dance for inspiration.
